Despite some fierce handicap cuts, we are delighted to acknowledge the following victors:

In 1999 Richard Jubb romped home as the inaugural winner with 42 points, playing off a handicap of 10 (and a tucked-in chin). For those interested in the footy, the result was Man Utd 2 - Newcastle 0.

The first winner of the new millennium was event co-organiser (and Web Editro) 'Wat'. Playing off 14 (his old shirt number) he amassed an astounding 41 points... and Chelsea beat Aston Villa by a goal to nil.

In 2001 the cup was taken to Newcastle with 'young' Ian (McKellow) tearing the course record apart with 47 points while playing to handicap of 21. He also walked off with the packet of Trill for having the most birdies on the day. Incidentally, having only taken up the game the year before 'young' Ian now plays off just 6. This was also the year that Liverpool saved us from a year of hell by beating Arsenal 2-1.

2002 brought another new name to the trophy - Wally Pitman - owner of Animal Allsorts and sponsor of the Trill. While the weather was kind Wal was the only one in the field to reach 40 points with a handicap of 12. It had to happen sooner or later - Arsenal won 2-0 vs. Chelsea.

'Tim' romped home in 2003 as the winner with 39 points meaning the FA Cup-Cup would stay in Linford. Arsenal 1 Southampton 0

2004 resulted in yet another new name on the cup; that of Mark Fennell - the bookies favourite! Done-up in plus-fours Marky carded 40 points and succeeded in taking the Grim Jacket out of Linford for the first time since 2001. Sadly Millwall let us all down by being stuffed 3-0 by Man Utd.

As the only player in 2005 to break 40 points on the day, Paul Gillan has added his name to the list of winners. Arsenal sneaked the FA Cup from Man Utd's grasp by winning 5-4 on penalties after a goal-less final - Yawn-yawn.

A tight finish to the 2006 competition, with Wayne Morris emerging as champion with 38 points; the lowest winning score so far. Gerrard's 91st minute goal sent the game to a goal-less extra time (3-3 aet). Liverpool finally overcame the Hammers, winning 3-1 on penalties.

Another new champion for 2007! Carding 23 points on the back nine to take the title by four clear points with a score of 40, was Athenian Adonis Gary Tredgett.
As for the footy, it was Didier Drogba who stole a goal in extra time to defeat Man Utd at the new Wembley stadium - let's hope future finals are more exciting!

Impossible to imagine, but 2008 brought us yet another new winner in the form of
Kelvin Lucking with 39 points. Even more astonishing was a footy final without any of the top-flight teams. Portsmouth overcame Cardiff by 1-0.

What were the chances of yet another different winner for 2009?
Keith Etheridge made the most of a depleted field and came home with 37 points - the lowest winning score so far. While Paul Mansfield (a.k.a. Son of Pedro) actually carded 40 points he was ineligible to win due to it being his first appearance and an incorrectly marked card. While Everton did their best by scoring in the first minute, they were unable to stem the Chelski tide, who went onto win 2-1.

Against all the odds we are delighted to have yet another unique victor!
Ian Rydings ripped up the back nine and arrived back at the clubhouse with 41 points. Although mildly more interesting than usual, Chelsea scored their usual solitary cup final goal to beat Portsmouth 1-0.

This was the first year somebody had won the FA Cup-Cup for the second time. Paul Gillan came home victorious with the lowest winning score to date - 35 points. This was the year of the 13th FA Cup-Cup and the 130th FA Cup, so they are only a few years ahead of us! Anyway, a monotonous final between Man City & Stoke City led to a 1-0 win from the blues.

As is customary, each winner gains the privilege of providing the morning's tipple for the following year.
And it must be something that has not been provided by a past winner.
Their selection is given in brackets.
